I have been on and off vegan for the past four or so years and one thing that I struggle to find is vegan cheese, especially when I initially looked into vegan products but thankfully there are so many now. I am so happy that veganism and more vegan options are becoming mainstream with lots of new products on supermarket shelves!

*Cicioni Vegan Cheese (£8.49, 160g) ★★★☆☆, 3/5

I've tried a few vegan cheese options from various brands and they can be a little hit or miss for me personally but it comes down to personal taste. My favourite vegan cheese, dips and sauces are from Follow Your Heart but sadly their products aren't widely available in the UK (hopefully they will be in the future). However, one new vegan cheese alternative that has come on the market sounded very promising.

Cicioni have create a cashew and almond based cheese alternative that is organic, suitable for vegans and is lactose, gluten and dairy free. It is also free from additives, sugar and preservatives. Additionally, it is made using only four ingredients! I love the packaging and the ethos of the brand as well as the minimal ingredients.

The 'cheese' is sold as a block which has a very unusual texture - when it is cut, it does hold it's shape but can easily crumble. It is unlike any vegan cheese alternative I've tried which at first I really wasn't sure if I liked but it is definitely better when used as part of a dish rather than on it's own or as I've used it above. I think, for me, the best way to use it is by crumbling a little onto salad as on it's own, it's a bit too much. Overall, if you're interested in it then give it a go - it's currently on sale on Ocado.

Will you give it a go? Have you tried any vegan cheese or cheese alternatives?

I have been a vegetarian since I was 11 years old which admittedly is very young but I'm still very glad that I made that decision and have stuck by it for over half of my life. I have steadily been transitioning to a more vegan diet over the past four or so years and it has been very easy; however I do still have dairy on occasion but compared to how much I was consuming, it's very little.

*Lifeway Kefir Cultured Milk Smoothies

I was excited to try these milk smoothies from Lifeway as there is one thing I 'miss' is tangy yoghurt on a more dairy free diet. The dairy free yoghurts I've tried haven't been great but hopefully I'll find one I like! These milk smoothies were very kindly sent to me in the flavours: mango, strawberry, original and blueberry. I like the packaging and the size is great as it isn't too big - I always end up wasting larger bottles of smoothie as I can never drink it all.

I haven't tried anything like this for a long time, not because of my diet but because it was just something I never thought to buy. Kefir is a live and cultured dairy drink that has a characteristic tangy taste - it originated 2,000 years ago! These smoothies are suitable for vegetarians.

I have four of the flavours and the original smoothie drink is my least favourite sadly but that's not to say you won't like it and I think it would be great to add to other breakfast items; for example if you are making a smoothie bowl and need a liquid to blend with fruit. The taste of all of the flavours, especially the original is very tangy and almost like a mix between a thick milk drink and tangy yoghurt.

I also received the mango, strawberry and blueberry flavours, the latter again wasn't a favourite of mine but I'm not a fan of blueberry flavoured products. However, the strawberry and mango were definitely my favourites of the four. I love the sweet fruit and the very tangy yoghurt smoothie drinks. I'm not sure 'smoothie' is the right term as to me it is more of a fruity yoghurt drink but I do like the strawberry and mango flavours - I'd definitely recommend them! I think they'd be ideal picnic or lunch box options too, as they're small bottles, healthy and low fat.

Will you be trying these smoothies? Have you tried Kefir?

A few days ago I received an amazing hamper featuring a few brand new products that will be hitting the supermarket shelves this summer from Levi Roots - it was such a cute PR package so thank you! You can see all of my blogger mail and unboxings on my instagram (@ofbeautyand).

*Levi Roots Caribbean Coconut Rice (£1.29 each)

Within the cute package were four of the new snack pots from Levi Roots which are filled with natural, wholesome ingredients and traditional Caribbean flavours so naturally they're all a little spicy. They have spice rating on the sides of the pots ranging from mild to medium. My favourite snack pot of the four, which are all suitable for vegetarians, has to be the coconut rice pot as it was incredibly moreish, comforting and delicious - thankfully for me, it wasn't too hot at all. It's one of the pots that are lower in fat and calories which is what I'm looking for so I'll definitely be picking up this one!

*Levi Roots Rasta Pasta (£1.29)

Usually I prefer any kind of pasta pot or instant pasta snack to rice but sadly not this time. Don't get me wrong, I liked the warming, slightly spicy tomato based pasta snack; however it just wasn't as good as the previous pot. They are all more 'healthier' instant options as they don't contain MSG, they use natural ingredients and they are lower in salt and sugar - although I found most of them sweet on some level.

*Levi Roots Reggae Noodles (£1.29)

The last two snack pots are noodles based which are some of my favourite kinds as I adore instant noodles, even though they're the cheapest snacks possible! The reggae noodles are classed as medium in terms of spice but thankfully even my tastebuds were ok which is surprising as it contains scotch bonnets chillies! I definitely liked the smokey flavour of this one but my favourite noodle snack pot is next up!

*Levi Roots Curry Noodles (£1.29)

This noodle pot to me tastes like quintessential, and not at all authentic, curry sauce! I don't mean that in a negative way at all, I really liked this flavour. It is very mild, very moreish and my second favourite snack pot out of the four that I was kindly sent. I would recommend all of them as tasty snacks or a light lunch for school or work but my favourites have to include the coconut rice and the curry noodles, both of which I'd definitely pick up when I see them on the shelves!

I am a big coffee drinker, I have at least one per day (I am having a gingerbread latte as I'm typing) so I've never reached for energy drinks as the caffeine in coffee is enough for me but I'm always happy to try new products although nothing will ever replace coffee for me. I was very kindly sent the Sunsoul Natural Energy Drinks to test out!

*SunSoul Raspberry & Elderflower Natural Energy Drink

Raspberry and elderflower are two of my favourite flavours within drinks, especially tea so this was the one I wanted to try first and it's definitely my favourite. I love the sweet, sharp raspberry flavour but it's not overly or sugary sweet. It's fizzy and refreshing - perfect as a mid afternoon pick me up when I usually reach for snacks. I really like all three but this one is my favourite!

*SunSoul Kaffir Lime & Lemon Natural Energy Drink

Lemon and lime are favourites of mine too, I always drink still water with lemon and lime juice as it's refreshing but subtle and this is another fave. I love the sweet zesty, citrusy flavour and as it's carbonated it's a great pick me up when I'm feeling tired or if I have a lot to do but not enough energy.

*SunSoul Spiced Mango & Pineapple Natural Energy Drink

I love mango and pineapple smoothies but I haven't tried them in anything other than smoothies; I tried this one last as the combination of tropical fruit and christmassy spices such as cardamon and cinnamon sounds quite...unusual and I didn't know if I'd like it as it isn't a combination that I haven't seen or tried before. It is surprisingly really good, I actually like the sour tropical fruit and cinnamon mix - unusual but surprisingly pleasant.

Overall, I'm really happy with all three and I can't recommend them enough as an alternative energy drink that contains 100% natural ingredients, no refined sugar and only contains 84 calories. My favourite is the raspberry and elderflower option but they are all great! Also I love the packaging and they're only £2.78. Overall rating: ★★★★★, 5/5.
I don't have a massive sweet tooth but at this time of the year I am drinking more sugary hot drinks and sweet treats as well as baking lots of brownies, gingerbread and cookies which naturally have quite a lot of sugar in them. Sugar in any form isn't going to be super healthy but in comes Sugavida.

I was kindly sent the *Sugavida Organic Palmayra Tree Blossom Sugar (250g) which is a variation of sugar ethically and sustainably derived from the Palmyra Tree. It's 100% organic and it's suitable for vegans and vegetarians. The organic palmyra blossom sugar is low in fructose, it's diabetic friendly and it is rich in vitamin B12 and also includes B1, B2, B6 and iron which is amazing!

The sugar is quite fine, it's finer than regular granulated sugar and it looks like light brown sugar - it smells/tastes like light brown sugar too. It has a delicious treacle-like flavour which I love and I find it a little less sweet compared to white granulated sugar. It can be used for cooking, baking or stirring into hot drinks which is what I've been doing the most with this sugar but I can't wait to use it in baking too. Overall rating: ★★★★★, 5/5.
Today's post is slightly different as it's about a cookbook/lifestyle book and I haven't posted a book review for a while on my food blog (oops!). It's also about a dietary change that I've heard a lot about but before I received this book I didn't really know what it was about at all!

I received *Paleo: 12 Weeks To Change Your Life and I've been slowly making my way through it. I first have to say that I'm not a fan of the title, it's seems gimmicky and self help book-like which I'm not a fan of personally. The book is a 12 week paleo diet and fitness plan as well as a recipe book.

A paleo diet/lifestyle basically means that your diet should only include ingredients that would have been available to Palaeolithic peoples; the Palaeolithic period is also known as the old stone age - around 2.5 million years ago so obviously they didn't have modern grains, modern cooking tools or modern ingredients that we have now so it's all about raw, fresh and clean ingredients that out ancient ancestors would have consumed.

The book is really well laid out, explaining what you can and can't eat as part of a paleo lifestyle and to me it isn't really a viable option on the whole as baking is such a relaxing and important part of my routine as it really helps me relax, I love baking for other people and I love eating what I've made myself but with the paleo lifestyle you can't eat yeast, flour, sugars, baking powder etc so it isn't for me when it comes to baking. Dairy products are also restricted which is fine with me as I do go through phases of having not just a vegetarian diet but a vegan diet. However the diet does focus on fruits, vegetables, herbs, nuts and seeds and healthier, more natural fats which is a large part of my current lifestyle anyway. It's all about using raw, clean ingredients for a healthier and cleaner diet which I'm all for but I obviously don't eat meat or fish.

As with any dietary changes, especially such a big change like becoming a vegetarian, vegan or changing to a paleo lifestyle, I personally think that it is important to make the change gradually rather than eliminating products immediately. I think the diet could be a fantastic way of reducing and eventually eliminating processed foods from your diet if you do eat meat or a lot of processed foods but for me personally, I don't think it's that much of a change as I've been a vegetarian for about 13 years now and I do restrict my dairy intake occasionally too as it does help me to loose weight. It also encourages the reader to eat seasonally which I think would be great for more people to incorporate into their lifestyle/buying habits.

Overall, I like the way the book is written as it's well laid out, explained well and offers good advice (particularly about planning meals ahead etc) but for me personally it isn't much of a change and it' isn't that appropriate but I think if you do rely on processed foods then it could be a fantastic way of eating cleaner and healthier ingredients! There's only one thing I don't like about the book on the whole and that is that it can feel a little bit preachy at times and I don't think the plan would be 100% easy or viable for most individuals, particularly with a family or a very limited budget, in my opinion. Overall rating: ★★★☆☆, 3/5.

Have your read this book? What do you think of the paleo lifestyle?

I'm not very handy when it comes to gardening and growing plants because, bugs. Although even when there aren't really any bugs, for example, with succulents, I still manage to kill the plants - yes, I have managed to kill a succulent, they are meant to be plants for dummies...However, I do love to watch the progress of plants growing everyday and I have been able to keep a pepper plant and herbs growing for a couple of months now and they're not dead (go me!).

So when I received the *Biosnacky Three Tier Germinator by A.Vogel (£17.99), I was really excited because I'm basically a grandma and the best thing about it - no soil, so no bugs! The germinator is kind of a mini greenhouse which you can keep at your desk or a windowsill. The one I have is a three tier germinator with a lid. It came with three packets of sprout speeds including a gourmet mix, broccoli sprout seeds and mung bean sprout seeds.

My mum has a horticulture qualification so she helped me figure out the not so clear instructions - she said they they could have been a little clearer. Here are my basic instructions: rinse the germinator and rinse the seeds then dispense the seeds onto the tiers of the germinator (this bit can be a little messy). Stack the tiers making sure the red filters are staggered and fill the top tier with water - the water will slowly filter into all three tiers leaving a tiny amount of water in each one.

We couldn't see on the instructions how many seeds you need per tier so we probably overfilled two of the three tiers but hopefully it will be ok! Even after a couple of days the seeds in all three tiers were looking like they were starting to grow and change - there isn't a massive change just yet, I think I read on the website that it takes about 5-6 days.

Overall, even though the instructions weren't the clearest, it was still easy to put together and it's great seeing the little sprout seeds starting to grow and change and I can't wait to cook with them! My only main negative (apart from the instructions) was that the tiers don't click or lock into place which I think would be a great idea as if you want to move it or if you accidentally knock into it as I did just when we finished putting it together, then things can get VERY messy and the seeds and water can go everywhere....I think it would be a unique and interesting gift for foodies and gardeners this christmas! Overall rating: ★★★★☆, 4/5.

What do you think of this sprout germinator? Are you green fingered or are you an accidental plant killer as I am?

I LOVE coffee, I drink at least a mug of coffee each day! I usually stick to lattes, especially instant gingerbread lattes as they are so delicious and sweet as well as quick and easy to use. However, when I received this amazing package of coffee, I was excited to give them a go.

- Rombouts Italian Style Dark Roast (£2.69)

I am used to lattes which aren't that strong so I didn't know if I'd like this one - I thought it would be really bitter but it's actually rich and intense but with oat milk, it is really creamy and it isn't really bitter - it only needs a tiny amount of sugar. Also it smells amazing! This one is definitely my favourite from the range of four that I have tried. I haven't tried filter coffee before but it is so quick and easy to use at home and I think it would be even more handy if you want to use them at work etc. Overall rating: ★★★★★, 5/5!
- Rombouts Colombian Medium Roast (£2.69)

Again, it's really easy to use although I can't use it with my usual mugs as they are massive Starbucks mugs but they fit regular sized mugs. The coffee isn't a strong or as rich as the first one but I still like it; it's a bit sweeter and less intense. I still use oat milk and a small amount of sugar and I can't recommend these enough. Overall rating: ★★★★★, 5/5.
- Rombouts Original Medium Roast (£2.69)

I don't notice too much of a different between the Colombian coffee and this one apart from this one is a little less strong. I think it would be great for those who like coffee but don't want strong, bitter or intense coffee. Overall rating: ★★★★☆, 4/5.

- Rombouts Decaf Medium Roast (£2.69)

As well as trying filter coffee for the first time, this is also the first time I've tried decaffeinated coffee! This is the only one I'm not crazy about, I think it's quite weak; maybe I'm just used to regular coffee so decaffeinated isn't what I'm used to. However, my mum only drinks decaf coffee so she really likes these. Overall rating: ★★★★☆, 4/5.

One of the best things about blogging, besides meeting lovely bloggers and PRs and being part of such a supportive online community, is being able to try out new products and brands that I might not have come across if I hadn't been blogging.

Plant Hemp produce a range of hemp based products, grown in Canada. I was very kindly sent a couple of products to try. I haven't tried anything containing hemp before so I didn't know what to expect - I remember a couple of seasons of Bake Off ago, one of the contestants used hemp oil to make flapjack/breakfast bars, I think

I have the *Plant Hemp Super Minis Forbidden Fruit which are natural, suitable for vegans and gluten free. They come in little squares, two of which contain 110 calories, 4g protein and magnesium, manganese and iron. The bars are quite hard, I would definitely prefer them if they were softer but they do taste great - they have a nutty/seed and earthy taste. I've been having them as a snack with a cup of herbal tea. Overall rating: ★★★★☆, 4/5.

I also have the *Plant Hemp Oil which is a great source of omega 3 and 6; it is suitable for vegans, it is raw and it is non-GMO verified. There are so many brands of hemp oil online as well as SO many articles about it so it can be a little overwhelming. I have only used it a few times so far mainly as part of a very simple lemon salad dressing and it works well but I really need to try other recipes. It has a nutty/seed and earthy flavour so I think it would be great for upcoming autumnal recipes. There's a recipe on the Plant Hemp website for avocado hemp oil dressing which I need to try as I LOVE avocados. Overall rating: ★★★☆, 3/5.

Overall, I'm happy with both products, more so the super mini snacks but if these aren't your thing, they do have lots of other products including maple cinnamon superfood which can be added to smoothies. These products aren't going to be for everyone but I'd definitely recommend them if you are looking to try some hemp products but don't know where to start.
Last year I tested out the Buko coconut water, which I really liked and now Buko have released their line of coconut jam...yes, coconut jam. I didn't know what to expect but I love coconut so I wanted to give them a go.

I have the *Buko Organic Coconut Jam (£4.55, 330g) in the chocolate flavour, original and naturally sweet with sea salt. The coconut jam is naturally sweet 100% organic, gluten free, Non GMO and preservative free.

The *Buko Organic Coconut Jam with Chocolate was the one I wanted to try the most and I pretty much instantly loved it. It looks like chocolate spread but it has the consistency of solid coconut oil and it tastes like a melted country bar (but not quite as chocolatey or super sweet). While writing this post I've already made quite a dent in it...oops.

Next up the *Buko Organic Coconut Jam with Sea Salt which is almost as moreish and delicious as the chocolate one. It has the same solid coconut oil texture which I like but I think if you're not used to it then it will be a little unusual. I've been using a small amount on toast and I'm thinking of ways to incorporate it into recipes and baking - I think it would be great as a binding agent for homemade granola.

Lastly, the *Buko Organic Coconut Jam - Original; sadly it's my least favourite probably because it isn't quite as sweet as the other two flavours. Overall, I'm really happy with the sea salt and chocolate flavours and I'm quite surprised at how much I like them! Overall rating: ★★★★☆, 4/5.

Have you tried any of the Buko coconut jams? Would you try them?

Burts" width="480" />

I ever since I was a child I've loved crisp sandwiches (potato chips, if you're american) and I don't know why someone first thought to put crisps into a sandwich but they were equal parts mad and genius. It obviously isn't the most health conscious thing to eat but it's great as a little treat/cheat. I always have cheese and onion or sea salt crisps on white bread but when an amazing package came from Burts I was excited to experiment and to create the best crips sandwich ever!

For my first attempt I used the *Burts Vintage Cheddar and Spring Onion Crisps which are so moreish as well as rocket, herby soft cheese and basil on a seeded bagel. I love these crisps, they're so addictive and so nice as part of a crisp sandwich - I also think that fresh basil is perfect on any sandwich as well as rocket.

I've tried some of the other Burts crisps and they are all so yummy, especially the coconut curry crisps - definitely give them go! I'll have reviews of the others on my blog soon!

Have you tried any of the Burts crisps? What's you're favourite sandwich combination?

If you didn't know already, I'm a bit obsessed with herbal, mint or green tea so when these instant iced tea drinks arrived in the post, I was excited to give them a go as they seemed perfect for summer - well, the kind of summer we get in England!

*Yum Cha Jasmine (£3.95, 33cl)

The drinks, to me, are a mix between iced tea and cordial as to use you just dilute the Yumcha tea into water - approx. 1 part tea to 25 parts water. The jasmine flavour is brewed using real tea and it tastes so good! I'm not a massive fan of floral tea but this is so nice when just out of the fridge. The weather in the UK has been muggy and humid but not very hot so these have been perfect on the warmer days. It's such a refreshing drink with a subtle jasmine tea flavour that I love. Overall rating: ★★★★★, 5/5.

*Yum Cha Moroccan Mint (£3.95, 33cl)

I LOVE mint tea so I knew I would love this one! Mint tea, in any form, is just so refreshing and perfect as a breakfast tea. I have been having this tea in my kilner jar mug with lots of ice in the morning or in the afternoon as a little pick me up. It's a close call between the two as to which one I like more but I think I'm going to have to go with the jasmine tea! Overall rating: ★★★★★, 5/5.

Overall, I'm really happy with both and I know I'll use them up so quickly! They are both sweet enough on their own so I don't need to add anything and they are both so quick and convenient. I love the flavours of both but the jasmine tea is my favourite. There's also a lemon flavour and elderflower flavour that both sound amazing!

Have you tried either of these? Do you like iced tea?

I've already reviewed the Mr Lee's Shaolin Monk Vegetables flavour which you can check out if you want to know more about that flavour. I have the second vegetarian option; the *Mr Lee's Dragon Fire Mushroom Noodles which are the same as the previous flavour in that they don't contain nasty ingredients (only 100% natural ingredients) as well as gluten free noodles which is great!

I had the same minor issue with this flavour as I did with the previous - there is too much water when I fill it up to the line so I end up tipping out at least half of the water as otherwise it is a noodle broth/noodle cup a soup but if that's what you want then there's no issue at all! The flavour is so nice, I love the rice noodles and the mushrooms but it is quite spicy as the three chilli symbols on the pot would suggest! I am a wimp when it comes to spicy food so maybe I'm not the best candidate for this flavour option but it wasn't too too spicy. My dad loves spicy food and he didn't think they're that spicy so I guess I have the worlds most sensitive and wimpy tastebuds!

Overall, I love the packaging and branding - it's a super quick snack or lunch option. It's filling and tasty as the Shaolin Monk Vegetables flavour is but I probably would prefer the previous flavour just because I'm not a fan of spicy food! Overall rating: ★★★★☆, 4/5.

Image from Google

If you don't know already, I adore noodles, I could eat noodles everyday; when it comes to guilty foods that I love, instant noodles are very high on my list so I was excited to try these as they much healthier than other noodles that I usually choose - they don't contain any nasty ingredients or allergens and the noodles are gluten free too. Additionally they only contain 100% natural ingredients!

I was kindly sent their two vegetarian options, including the *Mr Lee's Noodles Shaolin Monk Vegetable Noodles which will be available in August. The noodles per cup contain 226 calories, 6.3g protein and 1.2g of salt, the latter isn't amazing but the low calories and high protein figures are fantastic.

The noodles are rice noodles which I personally LOVE but they won't be for everyone as they do have a more unusual texture when compared to more common egg noodles. I love all of the veggies included such as red peppers, broccoli, green beans and cauliflower which unlike some products like this, the veggies aren't mushy or just there to bulk out the contents.

It's not spicy but it's tasty and it does keep me full as a lunch option which is great as usually instant noodles and products like this aren't very filling. My only problem with them is that if I fill with water up to the level then there's just SO much water and I end up getting rid of at least half the water before eating but other than that it's well worth trying and I can't wait to try the other vegetarian option I have - second post coming soon. Overall rating: ★★★★☆, 4/5.

This is my last post about the amazing products from Fry's *cries* and again I cannot recommend everything I've tried enough! Quorn used to be the only brand I reached for when it comes to vegetarian and vegan meat alternatives but not anymore - Fry's products are ten times better than Quorn in my opinion!

I have the *Fry's Braai Style Country Herb Sausages (£3.39, 380g) which are 100% vegan, they are made in a dedicated vegan factory and they can be used in so many lunches, snacks and main meals. I've been using them mainly within a salad or sausage sandwich *it has to happen in England* and I love them! They aren't dry and they taste so good! They have a herb flavour, they are surprisingly very meaty flavoured/textured (from what I can remember) and they have a clove aftertaste which I love. I will be buying these ASAP! Overall rating: ★★★★★, 5/5.
Can I rave about Fry's products anymore? Yes! I have yet another review where all I'm going to do is rave about the product as I'm so impressed. I have the *Fry's Rice Protein + Chia Stir-Fry Strips (£2.99. 300g) which is probably my favourite product so far although I say that about everything from this brand.

I use these strips up SO quickly, I cannot get enough and I will be buying more as soon as I've used up the other products I have. The strips, as with all of the other items I've tried, are not dry at all which is such a pleasant surprise as the only other vegetarian/vegan meat substitutes I've tried have been from Quorn which is really dry, in my opinion.

The strips are amazing in stir-frys as the name would suggest and I've been pairing them with rice noodles (I love rice noodles!), green beans, spiralized carrot and a basic sauce of soy sauce, peanut butter and toasted sesame oil. I cannot recommend Fry's products enough! Overall rating: ★★★★★, 5/5!
Oops, I haven't been keeping on top of the Fry's food reviews *sorry* but I have another review today! The *Fry's Family Rice Protein & Chia Nuggets (£3.12, 240g) have to be some of my favourites of the Fry's products I've reviewed so far...although they are all pretty amazing!

As with all of the products, they are so quick and easy to cook and can be added to so many meals, lunches or as a snack. I've been having them either with salad or on their own with a dip of natural yoghurt, chives and garlic *drools*.

I thought they might be a bit dry but as with all Fry's products, they aren't! The nuggets are so tasty, unique and moreish, as well as 100% vegan which is amazing and so impressive. The texture is a little unusual but I like it and I will definitely be buying more! Overall rating: ★★★★★, 5/5.
Another day, another post about the amazing frozen range of Fry's vegetarian and vegan food! I have loved everything from the range so far and this product is no different - actually I think it is my favourite of the items I've tried thus far. I have been using the *Fry's Chicken Style Strips (£3.13, 380g) pretty much constantly this week!

They are vegan, high in fibre and protein and they don't contain added preservatives. Fry's products have a lower carbon footprint, it has a dedicated vegan factory and they are non-GMO products. I've been using the strips as part of my lunch and main meals all week and I LOVE them, I'm going to have to order another pack ASAP.

The strips have a slightly unusual texture, it has a really meaty texture and they can be added to so many meals. The strips taste so nice, they are very quick and easy to cook in a wok or pan, or under the grill. I have been adding them to rice noodles, beansprouts and veggies with a Thai peanut and coconut sauce *it's delicious* and I can't stop making it! Overall rating: ★★★★★, 5/5.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3484184509973479545.post-86062750964774690662016-05-27T07:51:00.002-07:002016-05-27T07:51:19.460-07:00Fry's Vegan Soy + Flaxseed Schnitzels

Today's post is another featuring my new favourite brand, Fry's. I have already reviewed their meat free chicken nuggets which are suitable for vegans as these are. I'm now reviewing the *Fry's Vegan Soy and Flaxseed Schnitzels (£2.99, 320g) which I have been having as part of my lunch after driving lessons and I LOVE them!

I thought they would be dry and crumbly, as sometimes Quorn products can be like that, but they aren't at all! They are also super tasty, I don't need anything with them although I do love to pair them with a natural yogurt, dill, cucumber and garlic dip.

They are so quick and easy to prepare and are perfect for lunch or as part of a main meal. They are also suitable for vegans so they don't contain dairy. I haven't come across a brand or product range as fantastic as this so I cannot recommend Fry's products enough! Overall rating: ★★★★★, 5/5!
A couple of weeks ago I received such an amazing and super generous package containing lots of goodies from the brand Fry's which I had heard of before but I haven't tried anything from them. I have been a vegetarian for 12 years now which is crazy and until now the only meat substitutes I have really tried have been from Quorn which I'm not a huge fan of so I was looking forward to giving these products a go!

I will have reviews of everything on my blog of the next few weeks, firstly, I have the *Fry's Meat Free Chicken Style Nuggets (£3.25, 380g) which are high in protein/fibre, they are suitable for vegans which is amazing and they don't contain preservatives or MSG. I have tried the Quorn ones which I like but I like these even more!

They have an unusual texture which my sister (who isn't a vegetarian) didn't like at all but I do! They are a tiny bit chewy but I love them. I've been having them for lunch with a cucumber and rocket salad before my driving lessons last week and they have kept me mostly full for the whole time (when using 3/4 nuggets each time). They are so convenient to cook and great for lunch! I have finished the box now so I did go through them quite quickly but I'd definitely buy them although it isn't the most widely available brand. The products can be bought from Ocado, Morrisons and online. Overall rating: ★★★★★, 5/5.
If you follow my main blog, Of Beauty & Nothingness, then you may have been that I've worked with this brand before - I tried their Superprotein Power which I loved in smoothies. I'm lucky enough to work with Indigo Nutrition again for this post.

I have the *Indigo Nutrition Super Vital Powder (£7.49, 100g) which contains organic Acai powder, organic Baobab powder and beetroot powder and contains a range of vitamins and minerals such as Vitamin E, Vitamin C, Calcium, Iron and Potassium.

The powder is purple in colour, it contains 100% pure ingredients and it can be added to smoothies or juice. I've been adding the powder to my smoothies before I blend them in my NutriBullet *I've been loving my mango, apple and raspberry smoothies recently*. It states to start with 1/2 teaspoon of the powder and to work your way up to 4 teaspoons per day.

The power doesn't add much flavour at all to the smoothie but it adds extra vitamins, minerals and dietary fibre - unlike some nutritional powders, this one doesn't add a powdery taste. I'd definitely recommend it! I will have reviews of the other powders on my blog soon! Overall rating: ★★★★★, 5/5.
We all know how great water is for us, not just as a necessity but when drinking the right amount or more it can help your skin and general health. Coconut water was a massive thing last year but maybe a new drink will take it's place this year...maple water, yes, maple water.

I was kindly sent a range of sizes of the *Drink Maple Pure Maple Water which comes in 250ml cartons, 355ml bottles and 946ml cartons. For every bottle sold they will provide 200 gallons of clean drinking water to a country in need which is amazing!

Maple water contains less sugar than coconut water, it contains more manganese than a cup of kale (wow!), it contains antioxidants, probiotics and minerals and it also contains natural electrolytes as coconut water does. It is gluten free, dairy free (obviously...?) and it's suitable for vegans. There are 33.5 calories per 100ml, 0.6mg of manganese, 25mg of calcium and 26mg of potassium. It's also certified organic and non-GMO.

Now all of the statistics are out of the way; firstly, I like the packaging, it's simple and clean. I wasn't sure how I would feel about this drink - I adore maple syrup (if you haven't tried maple syrup in porridge or added to vegetables before you roast them then you're missing out!). The packaging says that it is naturally sweet and refreshing and I can definitely agree with that but it won't be for everyone though!

It is refreshing and perfect for spring/summer and it is sweet enough to be delicious but not so sweet than it is too much. I don't know how to describe the taste, it definitely isn't like what I thought it would be as I was probably just expecting a pure, super sweet or rich maple syrup flavour but it is so light and 'green' tasting, if that even makes sense! I really wasn't sure about this drink at first, as it is quite unusual but the more I drink it, the more I like it. It's definitely one to try. Overall rating: ★★★★☆, 4/5.
When it comes to chopping garlic especially, I am very lazy, I tend to stick to the dried and powdered versions of chilli, garlic and ginger instead of the fresh varities as it is just so much quicker; however these may be the answer.

Very Lazy have a range of pre-chopped and pre-prepared essentials such as ginger, chillies and garlic that makes cooking and preparing so much quicker and easier. The best part for me is that, unlike other items like these, the expiration date is quite long - six week after opening which is great!

We have been using the *Very Lazy Chopped Garlic (£1.49, 125g) the most and we are half way through the pot already which isn't surprising considering that it is used almost everyday. It does have a vinegar taste to it even when heated through but I don't mind that - it doesn't have an artificial or subtle flavour. I will DEFINITELY be buying this one when it runs out! Overall rating: ★★★★★, 5/5.

I also have the *Very Lazy Chopped Ginger (£1.45, 115g) which again is in white wine vinegar, as all three are, which is probably why they are able to stay fresh for so long. I have only used this one a couple of times as I rarely use ginger but it is super handy and when cooked through well, you don't taste the vinegar. Overall rating: ★★★★☆, 4/5.

Lastly, the *Very Lazy Chopped Red Chillies (£1.45, 190g) which I haven't used as I don't use chilli that much - my little tastebuds can't cope with anything spicy! But as with the ginger one, my dad has been using it and loving it. It takes time and effort out of cooking and they are so handy to have in the fridge. Overall rating: ★★★★☆, 4/5.

Overall, I cannot recommend enough, especially the garlic one and I will be buying another one when it runs out! All of the ones I have are suitable for vegetarians and I think the price is fantastic! They have a few other products such as lemongrass paste, garlic puree, piri piri chillies in oil and more. The products can be bought from Ocado, Tesco, Sainsburys and online.
One of my goals for this year is to have a more balanced and varied diet, as well as a slightly healthier one, and one of the meals that I tend to overlook when it comes to getting the most out of it is breakfast. I eat pasta, noodles, toast or porridge for breakfast (odd I know), rarely cereal or anything like granola.

However, when the *Sown & Grown Three Grain Granola (£3.95, 450g) arrived I was excited to give it a go. Firstly, I love the packaging! It's suitable for vegetarians and uses 100% British grains. It is high in fibre, it doesn't contain added salt and it contains: oats, barley, spelt (wheat), almonds, linseeds, pumpkin seeds, rapeseed oil, honey and sugar. There are six varieties to choose from and I have the super tasty three grain granola version.

I love anything containing a mixture of honey, nuts and oats so I knew I would love this one! It's sweet, crunchy and tasty and best of all it is healthy and filling - it keeps me full until lunch. I have it on it's own or with oat milk (I use the Oat Dream milk which is the best oat milk I've tried). I've gone through half the tube already...oops. I'd definitely recommend it. They are available in 300 Sainsbury's stores. Overall rating: ★★★★★, 5/5!
